Legal
Terms of Use
These terms govern use of the Your Study Buddy website, installed applications, accounts, and Community features.
Effective October 24, 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the online service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use Community features. Offline features may remain available without an account.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an online account or use Community features. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must permit your use. Keep your account secure and provide accurate registration information. Usernames may be changed, restricted, or removed when necessary to protect users or the service.
3. Educational use
Your Study Buddy provides study tools and user-contributed material. It is not an official source for any school, examination organization, licensing body, or admissions program, and it does not provide medical, legal, or other professional advice. Verify important information against primary course materials.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of original content you create. When you publish content, you grant Your Study Buddy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, format, and distribute that content through the service, solely to operate and improve Community. This license ends when you unpublish the content, except for copies already saved by other users and reasonable backups or legal records.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to publish your content. A citation does not by itself grant permission to copy or redistribute someone else’s work.
5. Acceptable use
You must follow the Community Guidelines. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, evade safeguards, access another person’s account, scrape the service excessively, inflate saves or ratings, submit dishonest reports, or publish unlawful or rights-infringing material.
6. Moderation and enforcement
We may limit distribution, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or preserve relevant records when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or maintain the service. Automated systems and user reports may assist moderation. To dispute a decision, contact support@yourstudybuddy.net.
7. Copyright
Copyright concerns should identify the protected work, the reported material and its location, the reporter’s contact information, and a good-faith explanation. Send requests to support@yourstudybuddy.net. False or abusive notices may lead to account restrictions.
8. Service availability and changes
Features may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued. You are responsible for keeping backups of important study material. We may update these Terms and will identify changes through the effective date or an in-product notice when appropriate.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, the service and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these exclusions may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Your Study Buddy and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, grades, opportunities, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains limited only to the extent permitted by law.
